The Backpacks of Love campaign has returned.
After a successful summer donation drive, the Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay is putting together backpacks of new, donated essential items for winter survival.
Their goal is 150 backpacks and 150 supplemental bags.
A couple of donation days have been lined up.
Donations of new items will be accepted at the New Apostolic Church, 46 Joseph St. from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, October 23 and Saturday, November 6.
Items needed include:
Backpack – Camping Style – Approximately 45L
Travel packs of facial tissue
Silver Emergency Blanket
Granola bars/Energy bars
Tarp
Drawstring bag
Mini First Aid Kit
Reusable bag
Pack of heavy socks
Towelette pack/wipes
Winter slippers
Flashlight
Package of masks
Lip balm
Reusable water bottle
Pkg of hand and foot warmers
Travel containers for soap
Mitts/Gloves
Deodorant
Toque
Toothpaste
Scarf
Travel containers for toothbrushes
Hairbrush
Toilet paper
