Three people facing firearms and drug-related charges

A tip from Toronto Police led to police in North Bay charging three people with several firearms and drug-related offences.

The North Bay Police Services say on Sunday they received information about an alleged attempt to extort money from a victim.

Three people were taken into custody after a traffic stop along Highway 11 at Watson Road.

A 26-year-old man from Toronto and two youths each face nine charges, including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and firearms-related counts.

They were held pending bail hearings.

Police seized about $5,600 in drugs, including suspected cocaine and Percocet pills, along with approximately $1,210 in money, a handgun,  ammunition and a vehicle.
