Next Downtown Christmas Walk planned for 2022

The traditional Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk won’t be happening again this year in North Bay.

Amber Livingstone, Executive Director, says they’re planning for the popular event to return next year.

“We’re going to hold off until 2022 and hope that things look a little bit more normal at that time and provide us with a safer space to gather in groups,” she says.

There will be a virtual and in-person tree-lighting ceremony on November 18th.

“It’s going to be a bit of both, if you feel safe and you want to come to it, by all means.  But, we are looking to have it streamed online as well,” Livingstone says.

They’re also starting a six-week promotion and gift card draws at that time.

“With our passport promotion you make a purchase at a participating Downtown retailer and you get a stamp on your passport.  Once you fill the passport, which is only three stamps, you get to go into the draw,” she says.

Livingstone says further promotions are also being planned, but details have yet to be announced.

The traditional Old Fashioned Christmas Walk has drawn thousands of people in the past for an evening of hydro bucket rides, music, roasting marshmallows, visits with Santa and much more.
