UPDATE: The majority of Hydro One customers impacted by the outages had the power restored by 12:45 pm.
The Near North District School Board says four schools in Almaguin have been closed for the day because of power outages.
They include Almaguin Highlands Secondary School, Land of Lakes Public School, Magnetawan Central Public School and Sundridge Centennial Public School.
Families are being asked to make arrangements to pick up their child.
The board also says in the case of Sundridge Centennial, the school’s phones are not working.
At last check, Hydro One’s outage map shows about nearly 3,300 customers without power in that area.
A ‘tree on the line’ is the cause with crews working on the issue.
The estimated restoration time is about 1 pm
