OPP investigating ‘senseless act’ involving railway tracks in Mattawa

An investigation is underway in Mattawa after Ontario Provincial Police reports someone tampered with the rails near Taggart Lake Road.

The OPP says parts of the rail that affect the switch mechanism were removed sometime between October 21st and 25th.

They also say objects had been stacked on the tracks a short distance away.

Police remind everyone to stay clear of railway tracks pointing out that tracks, yards and equipment are private property.
