Two organizations in North Bay are receiving funding for After-School Programs.

The province is providing $99,750 to the YMCA Northeastern Ontario (North Bay and District) and $72,000 for the City of North Bay.

“This has been a challenging and unprecedented time for Nipissing families,” says Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing. “Our government remains committed to improving the physical and mental health of our children and youth.”

Mayor Al McDonald is thanking the province for its continued support of the After-School Program.

“This funding allows the City of North Bay to provide young students with safe and supportive after-school programming, involving physical activities, healthy snacks, arts and crafts and homework assistance, three days a week in three locations,” he says.

Province-wide, $13.5 million is being invested in After-School Programs run by 110 organizations.
