Over a dozen new cases of COVID-19 in the region

Update (3 pm) Monday: The Health Unit website now shows 36 total cases associated with the outbreak at the Barclay House.   Earlier 38 cases were listed.

 

After 14 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from the weekend, none were added in the Monday afternoon update from the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.  

Eight of the weekend cases are in Nipissing and six are in Parry Sound District.

According to the Health Unit’s website, there are 36 cases associated with the outbreak at the Chartwell Barclay House retirement residence in North Bay.

Of the 42 active cases, there are two people in the hospital.  

Just under 87 percent of residents 12 and up have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. 

Nearly 83 percent of residents 12 and older are fully vaccinated.
