Downtown assault leads to charges

City police have charged a 44-year-old North Bay man with assault after an incident downtown last Thursday morning.

It’s alleged a person was walking along Oak Street at 8:15 am when they were verbally accosted by another person, who is not known to them.

The North Bay Police Service says the victim was then approached and assaulted.

They say a witness yelled at the accused who then fled the area.
