City police have charged a 44-year-old North Bay man with assault after an incident downtown last Thursday morning.
It’s alleged a person was walking along Oak Street at 8:15 am when they were verbally accosted by another person, who is not known to them.
The North Bay Police Service says the victim was then approached and assaulted.
They say a witness yelled at the accused who then fled the area.

Officers located and arrested the man inside the North Bay Transit Terminal.
He’s also charged with failure to comply with a probation order and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
Police say the victim suffered minor physical injuries.
