Military donation drive in support of the North Bay Food Bank

Minor traffic delays can be expected Thursday morning on Airport Road, near the Air Defence Park.

From 6-9 am members of 22 Wing/CFB North Bay and volunteers are holding a roadside stop collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for the North Bay Food Bank.

It’s the eleventh year they’ve taken part in the initiative, which is part of the My Team Cares program.

Military officials say due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide contactless drop-offs, the public is asked to place non-perishable food items in trunks, pull up and release the trunk so volunteers can remove the items.

Money will be collected using cans attached to poles to ensure physical distancing.

Officials say every dollar donated is the equivalent of one pound of food.
