A 40-year-old North Bay man is facing break-in related charges.
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) says officers responded to a Memorial Drive business just before 7 am Monday.
It’s alleged the business was entered through a window, which was damaged, with an interior door also damaged.
Police report the victim was alerted to the break-in by a security system, then went to the business and detained the accused until police arrived.
The accused is facing charges of break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.
He was released and has a January 4th court appearance.
There were no injuries in this incident, but police advise the public not to confront individuals involved in criminal activity because they may be unpredictable and/or be carrying weapons.
Instead, NBPS says get to a safe location away from the individual and call 911 to await the arrival of police.
