COVID-19 outbreak at St. Theresa school is over

The COVID-19 outbreak at St. Theresa Catholic school in Callander has been declared over. 

According to the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, all cases of the virus associated with the outbreak have been resolved. 

The Nipissing Parry Sound Catholic District School Board website shows three cases were involved.  

The Health Unit reminds the public to continue to practice COVID-19 public health measures including physical distancing, wearing a face covering indoors, and washing or sanitizing hands often.

Individuals who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are being encouraged by the Health Unit to get fully vaccinated. 

Ten new weekend cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Health Unit on Monday. 

Six are in Nipissing and four are in Parry Sound District.  

No new cases were reported in the Monday afternoon update. 

There are 28 active cases including one person in hospital.

The number of cases associated with a workplace outbreak is up two, for a total of 11. 

Over 88 percent of residents 12 and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. 

Nearly 85 percent are fully vaccinated.
