Lockout at Ontario Northland

Over 190 employees at Ontario Northland will be walking the picket lines today.

They have been locked out of the job, after talks between Unifor and the company broke down. The lockout affects the company’s rail and motor coach mechanics who are fighting for more job security. Union members organized a blockade at the North Bay Motor Coach repair centre over the weekend after the ON-C arranged to bring in replacement workers.

Unifor’s national president says it’s time for Premier Wynne to get involved and get Ontario Northland back to the bargaining table.
