A couple of North Bay councillors are accusing one of their colleagues of fear mongering over the water meters. Mark King wanted the manufacturer to take responsibility for the meters in case they breakdown and damage a person’s home.
He made the suggestion as council was passing a revised water meter by-law to merge earlier by-laws. However Tanya Vrebosch and deputy mayor Sheldon Forgette said his request was nothing more than fear mongering.
King said he wasn’t fear mongering and added tax payers shouldn’t be on the hook for water meter-related problems.
