North Bay home destroyed by fire early Monday

City fire prevention is investigating the cause of a house fire early Monday morning.

At just before 2 am (Monday) morning North Bay firefighting crews from all three stations responded to a report of a structure fire at 836 Worthington Street East,” says Greg Saunders, Deputy Fire Chief, in a release.  “The first arriving units arrived on the scene within four minutes of the call and found the home was suffering a significant amount of fire damage with flames shooting out of the windows at the rear of the home.”

He says the fire was under control later Monday morning, with firefighters working to manage hot spots within the structure.

“The home suffered very significant damage and will be torn down (Monday) afternoon,” Saunders says.

He also says all of the residents were reported to be out of the home when the fire department arrived on the scene.
