Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for:

  • North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa
  • West Nipissing – French River

The weather agency says a period of very cold wind chills is expected.

Minimum temperatures between minus 29 and minus 32 degrees Celsius are possible Monday evening into Tuesday morning, with wind chill values of minus 40.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
