The Ontario Hockey League has announced the North Bay Battalion’s next two games, at home Thursday night against Mississauga and Saturday night at Barrie, have been postponed.
It’s due to COVID-19 and the Omicron variant of the virus.
“We hadn’t been affected too much by COVID so far this season, but this week the Omicron variant has brought on several positive cases that will make us unable to ice a lineup for our upcoming games,” says general manager Adam Dennis, in a release.
“Our affected players are currently in quarantine and will return to the lineup after their isolation period,” he says, noting that eight players were in COVID protocols.
Makeup dates for the postponed games have yet to be announced.
The Troops’ next game is now a home game Sunday against the Colts.
