Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for:
- North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa
- West Nipissing – French River
The weather agency says a period of very cold wind chills is expected.
The warning is in effect from Thursday night into Friday morning. Environment Canada says minimum temperatures near or below minus 30 combined with moderate winds will bring wind chill values near minus 40.
Similar conditions are expected for many areas Friday night into Saturday morning as well.
