A forest management and lumber production company has opened an administration office in North Bay and is hiring new employees.
GreenFirst Forest Products says North Bay offers a cost-competitive business environment, a highly-skilled workforce and is close to their mills.
Their new office is located at 222 McIntyre Street West.
Mayor Al McDonald is welcoming GreenFirst to the city.
“This commitment to locating in North Bay not only supports the company’s strategic growth in northern Ontario and Quebec operations, but it is also a great addition to our downtown business community,” he says.
GreenFirst has seven sawmills in Ontario and Quebec and one paper mill in Ontario.
Their long-term vision is to be an environmental leader in the global forestry industry.

They’re looking to have 35 full-time employees in North Bay.
