Gatineau man facing drug charges in North Bay

A traffic stop has netted city police over $18,000 worth of suspected drugs. 

The North Bay Police Service says officers pulled over a vehicle that was allegedly driving erratically on Algonquin Avenue on Thursday. 

Police report the driver’s license was suspended in Ontario with the accused arrested and a search conducted. 

3,600 suspected methamphetamine pills, a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and $400 were seized by police.

A 35-year-old Gatineau, Quebec man is facing several charges including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.   

He’s in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
