COVID-19 outbreak over at the North Bay Jail

The latest COVID-19 outbreak at the North Bay Jail is over. 

It was resolved on Tuesday, Feb. 8, according to the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s COVID-19 dashboard. 

All told there were 134 cases associated with the second outbreak at the facility, which started Dec. 29.  

The first outbreak, from June 22 to July 12, involved 43 cases.

Meantime, there is a new data set on the Health Unit’s COVID-19 dashboard. 

A new section shows 16 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, regardless of the reason for admission.

Of those, ten are in hospital due to COVID-19.
