Nearly average snow depth in the area

Area snow depth is approaching normal levels.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) says snow depth has increased by 10.3 cm since its last readings on Feb. 1.

The average snow depth on Feb. 15 for all three measuring sites was 46.2 cm.

That’s about five percent below normal.

At the North Bay measuring site, snow depth is actually just above average.

Snow depth and water content are measured in North Bay, Corbeil and Chisholm as part of NBMCA’s Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.
