Water flow from leak at the Lake Talon Dam reduced

Water levels in Lake Talon are rising and becoming more seasonal.

This after staff from the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry reduced water flow from a leak at the Lake Talon Dam.

Ministry staff will continue to monitor water levels and say there remains no risk of flooding due to this leak.

The exact cause of the leak is unknown.

However, ministry staff, including engineers, will investigate further once conditions are more favourable.

The ministry continues to advise residents and other lake users to continue to exercise caution on and around the lake, especially with unpredictable ice conditions.
