Learning more about climate action locally

A virtual guest speaker series on climate action locally is now available online.

Next Economy: North Bay (NENB) hosted the series “Action Climate Change” over the past five weeks.

NENB says local experts showcased the numerous ways to build a more sustainable and resilient future for North Bay and northern Ontario.

Local climate-focused entrepreneurs, project coordinators, and engagement specialists, shared insight on what the current state of climate action is in North Bay, and where the community should focus its efforts moving forward.

“Having seen some of our city councillors attend the sessions, ask questions, and engage in the conversation makes me hopeful our decision-makers will now realize the urgency of this issue and take the next steps so we can start to mitigate against the impending effects of our climate crisis,” says Simon Blakeley co-founder of Next Economy: North Bay. “The low carbon economy includes some of the fastest-growing industries worldwide right now. It has the potential to deliver good quality well-paying jobs.”
