Average snow depth in the area

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) reports area snow depth is pretty much average for this time of year.

“Average snow depth for all sites is 54.1 cm (103.0% normal) and average water equivalence is 111.0 mm (97.1% normal),” said Angela Mills, NBMCA Water Resources Specialist.

Compared to last year there’s less snow.

NBMCA says the average snow depth for the three sites in 2021 was 61.5 cm at this time of year.

In terms of each measuring site, North Bay’s snow depth is about 12 percent above average, Corbeil is slightly above while Chisholm is about 10 percent below the norm.
