The multi-million centre for the arts in Sudbury will be opening its doors this Spring.
Place des Arts chair Alain Richard says the pandemic and ensuing delays in materials and labour caused quite a delay, but Sudbury’s $30-million entertainment facility will open on April 29.
He adds the 60,000-square-foot cultural centre will include a bar and restaurant for live entertainment, a theatre with 150 seats, and a larger one with 300.
Richard says there will also be shops for creating theatre costumes and props, artist studios and offices.
He adds they hope to host hundreds of events throughout the year regardless of language or culture, and all are welcome.
