Playoff action for three Nipissing teams

It’s a first for the Nipissing Lakers women’s volleyball team. 

They’re playing their first OUA playoff game in history Wednesday night. 

The game against Trent University is scheduled for 6 pm at the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre. 

The Lakers placed fourth in East, with a 6-5 record during the regular season.

Tickets are available at the door, with ID and proof of vaccination required to attend. 

A couple more Lakers teams have playoff games coming up on Saturday. 

The Nipissing men’s volleyball team travels to Kingston to play Queens. 

With a 7-3 regular season record, the Lakers placed third in the East. 

In women’s hockey, Nipissing is home to Ryerson for their OUA East semifinal matchup on Saturday night. 

The 8-4-2 Lakers wrapped up the regular season with a ninth place ranking in the weekly USports national top 10.  

In men’s hockey, Nipissing wraps up the regular season with three games in Kingston this week. 

The Lakers play RMC on Thursday, then Queens on Friday and Saturday. 

Nipissing is second in the East with a 9-5-1 record.
