Rehabilitation work coming to Callander’s waterfront

Half a million dollars is flowing from FedNor to the Municipality of Callander.

Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming, announced $500,000 in federal funding for infrastructure upgrades to the Callander waterfront.

Work will focus on the road leading to the waterfront, streetscaping and additional municipal infrastructure for private sector investment.

There will also be upgrades to the pier and enhancements to the waterfront such as walkways and washrooms.

“We are so grateful to receive this funding and look forward to implementing aspects of our Waterfront and Downtown Revitalization Plan this summer,” says Mayor Robb Noon.

“It is important to see these investments in our communities as tourism is a vital part of what happens here in Callander, and this project will help attract more tourists to our area,” says MP Rota.

The money is coming from the federal Tourism Relief Fund.
