Watch out for wildlife on the roads

Late fall and early winter is the most active time for moose, deer and elk.

The Ministry of Natural Resoures says its not strange for these animals to wander onto area highways. They are asking people to take extra caution around waterways and wooded corridors.

If you do see an animal on the road, flash your high beams and honk until they move back into the woods.  In the summer months, moose made up almost of all crashes in the area.
