Bike racks being installed on city buses

It’s becoming easier for cyclists to transition between active transportation and public transit in North Bay.

Bike racks, which can hold two regular bicycles, are being added to all city transit buses thanks to funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).

“Bike racks will enhance the City’s public transit service by allowing passengers to travel with their bikes to destinations within the city such as parks and beaches, trails, the downtown and the waterfront,” says Councillor Chris Mayne, Chair of Infrastructure and Operations.

Installation of the bike racks is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of April.

The city also says new bicycle storage areas will be installed at key cycling destinations later this year.
