Provincial funding to help attract and retain workers in North Bay

The city is getting provincial funding to help attract and retain workers.

MPP Vic Fedeli announced over $76,000 for the City of North Bay’s Workforce Attraction & Retention Initiative through the Rural Economic Development (RED) program.

“I would like to thank the provincial government for this important investment to help attract and retain talent in our community,” said Mayor Al McDonald. “We hear continuously from local employers that it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to fill positions. This funding will support local businesses and help ensure North Bay remains competitive in attracting and retaining talent.”

“Investments like this one in the City of North Bay help diversify and grow our local economy,” said Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing. “That’s why, as we continue to recover from COVID-19, initiatives that support strategies for attracting and retaining workers is so important.”

This funding is part of 61 projects the Ontario government is supporting to help diversify local economies, retain skilled workers, and create jobs in rural communities.
