An incident last Saturday has led to assault and weapon charges for a city man.
The North Bay Police Service responded to reports two people, a man and a woman, were assaulted with an edged weapon at an Oakdale Road residence on April 9, 2022.
Police say a physical altercation between two men when an edged weapon was drawn. It’s alleged a woman tried to intervene and was injured.
It’s further alleged that along with another physical altercation between the two men earlier in the day, threats were made against the male victim.
Police say the male victim suffered minor injuries and the female victim suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
A 20-year-old North Bay man is charged with:
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault
- Two counts of Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
- One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
