Provincial money for three projects including new pet adoption and wellness centre

Three area projects are receiving over $1.6 million from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced $850,000 for the North Bay and District Humane Society to build a new community hub for pets and pet families.

“Our new Pet Adoption and Wellness Centre will double the size of our campus, allowing us to expand our educational and volunteer programming, create permanent full-time jobs and most importantly, help us find loving forever homes for the more than 1,500 dogs, cats and other companion animals we welcome to our facility every year,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director of the North Bay and District Humane Society.

The facility will include 12 dog kennels, 5 cat and kitten care rooms, a training space, laundry facilities, a meet and greet space for potential adopters and an exercise park for pets and volunteers.
