TP North Bay collecting toilet paper donations

The TP North Bay campaign is back for the ninth year.

They’re looking to collect over 27,000 rolls of toilet paper this year as the need continues to grow.

“I find since COVID there are more people out of jobs and there’s a lot of homeless people and we really need to help them,” says Ellen Faulkner, Chair of TP North Bay.

Donations will go to 13 food banks and pantries in the area.

“That’s including Canadore College, Nipissing University, the pantry at the Children’s Aid Society and a couple of churches have pantries, but the majority are food banks,” she says.

TP North Bay will be set up at various grocery stores each Saturday in May while residents can also drop off rolls into TP North Bay Blue Boxes at local grocery stores, Giant Tiger and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Drop-off donations can also be brought to Allison the Bookman, Fire Station One on Princess Street and the Davedi Club.

Monetary donations can be sent via e-transfer to [email protected] or contact Faulkner at 705-493-6043 for pick-up of cash or cheque donations.

Over 21,000 rolls of toilet paper were donated last year.

The initiative runs until May 28th.
