Sidewalk construction and interlocking brick replacement along a section of Oak Street West is expected to start on Monday.
The city says sidewalk installation between Memorial Drive and Foran Street includes work on the southwest side of the road, a narrow roadway widening, and a new curb and gutter.
The project is tentatively scheduled for completion by June.
Traffic in that area will be reduced to local access only.
Work to remove the interlocking brick sidewalk between Cassells Street and Algonquin Avenue and replace it with concrete will also get underway.
The brick in this area is being replaced due to its condition and rate of deterioration.
Depending on the weather, concrete is expected to be poured later in the week, with asphalt to be added on either side of the concrete sidewalk in the coming weeks.
The city says short traffic delays are possible and drivers are advised to leave extra time for travel in this area or take an alternative route.
