A couple of online provincial election debates have been scheduled locally for mid-May.
North Bay Pride is inviting six candidates to a session at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 13th.
The debate will be taking place on Facebook Live.
Five days later there’s another online provincial election debate.
The Nipissing University Student Union, Retired Teachers of Ontario (RTOERO), Canadore Students’ Council and the Nipissing University Political Science Society are hosting the virtual session at 7 pm.
Candidates from the local Green Party, Liberal Party, NDP, and the Progressive Conservative Party have been invited.
Topics for the debate include climate change, long-term care homes, education, economy, environmental stewardship and First Nations, Inuit and Métis issues.
The debate will be moderated by Tanya Matthews, a political science student at Nipissing University.
An in-person meet the candidates event is also scheduled for Friday, May 27th, 2 pm, at the NUSU Student Centre (221 College Drive).
