Updating local masking policies

Masking will continue to be required at the North Bay Regional Health Centre after the provincial mandate is lifted.

“The safety of our patients, staff and hospital community is always the number one priority for NBRHC,” reads a statement from the Health Centre. “For this reason and at this time, our Health Centre will continue to follow best practices in infection prevention and control by continuing to require masking after the provincial mandates lift on June 11th.  Continuing to require masking in our hospital is an effective way for us to maintain a safe environment for the vulnerable populations we serve.”

One place you will no longer require a mask locally, as of June 11, is on a transit bus.

The City of North Bay says face coverings will no longer be mandatory on their buses as the provincial requirement is lifted.

However, the city says North Bay Transit riders may continue to wear a mask as a matter of personal choice.
