Callander seeking developers to create “Waterfront Place” on Shores of Callander Bay

The Municipality of Callander is looking to partner up with developers to develop the new “Waterfront Place” downtown.

Officials say the site is a large, municipally-owned waterfront property in the downtown core of Callander, and has been slated to host a community hub, which will be anchored by the municipal library.

The Municipality says the goal is to transform the destination to encourage day trips from neighbouring communities to come and enjoy the eventual green spaces, recreation opportunities, shop, eat and enjoy Callander.

“We are at the beginning of an exciting time in Callander,” said Mayor Robb Noon. “And we are so excited to advance this project on the shores of Callander Bay. We are hopeful that we’ll have the right people at the table to start planning and establishing the next steps to bring this potential development to fruition. We look forward to the feedback from developers.”

Located on Lansdowne Street West along the shore of Callander Bay on Lake Nipissing, “Waterfront Place” will focus on creating a vibrant area that includes social gathering opportunities and aged-focused programming, to ensure there is something for everyone.

Interested developers can obtain a Developer’s Package by contacting Ashley Bilodeau, Senior Municipal  Director, at [email protected]

Developers must submit a Letter of Interest by June 30, 2022, by 2:00 PM.
