Councillor and developer at odds over ski hill extension

A developer and a North Bay city councillor disagree on the wisdom of building the $4.2 million ski hill extension.  Councillor Mark King opposes it.

But builder Renzo Silveri says the extension paves the way for 2,000 lots over 20 years that can accommodate half million dollar homes.  Silveri told council it needs to have confidence and be ready for the next upturn in the economy.

When King pointed out there are over 200 unsold shovel ready and draft approved lots in the city, Silveri told him you can`t force people to live where they don`t want to live adding people want to be on the hill.  But King says among those unsold properties are 30 shovel ready plots on the hill.
