Rookie Liberal MP to chair northern caucus

A rookie MP has been chosen over some veteran Liberals to chair the Northern Ontario Liberal caucus.  Marc Serre of Nickel Belt will chair the weekly meetings that will raise Northern Ontario issues with the new Liberal government.

Of the 10 seats in the north, the Liberals own seven.  One of those ridings is Kenora held by Bob Nault who served as an MP from 1993 to 2003 before getting back into politics.

Another veteran not chosen as caucus chair is Anthony Rota of Nipissing-Timiskaming.  Rota recaptured the riding in the October election after losing it four years ago to the Conservatives.
