McHappy Day proceeds benefiting local children

Local children and families are benefiting from a successful McHappy Day fundraiser.

One Kids Place (OKP) children’s treatment centre has received a cheque for more than $3,700.

The money was raised during the May 11 campaign at McDonald’s Restaurants in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls.

“Monies raised will support our loan equipment program that supplies equipment and therapy tools to families free of charge,” says Brenda Loubert, Executive Director of OKP. “One Kids Place is truly grateful to Colin, Vanessa, Dan and the entire team at McDonald’s North Bay & Sturgeon Falls and we value their continued support and dedication to our children and families.”

On McHappy Day, OKP staff were thanking patrons and sharing information about the programs and services provided to families.

“We believe that children and families are key to strong communities,” says Dan MacWhirter, Regional Marketing Specialist from McDonald’s North Bay & Sturgeon Falls. “We take great pride in the opportunity to help those whose lives we impact, even for a short time.”

One Kids Place provides community-based rehabilitation, specialized clinic services and related support services for children and youth in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound.
