City police say it’s not them calling and asking you for money.
The North Bay Police Service says victims are receiving fraudulent calls from scammers claiming to be representatives of the police service or the North Bay Police Association and are asking for significant cash donations.
Police say the scammers claim they can send documentation about the donations to the victim’s address in order to receive payment.
“These calls are not from an official representative of the Police Service or the Association,” states a release.
Police say neither the North Bay Police Service nor the North Bay Police Association are collecting donations for any cause at this time.
