Saturday beach party a pilot project

North Bay Pride is holding a beach party this Saturday at the waterfront.

The organization says it’s a test project for the city about possibly changing the rules about open alcohol on the beach.

There will be glow sticks, a big screen, DJ, lights, a bar and more.

“We are very excited to work with the City of North Bay on this pilot event, which can possibly open the door to more creative events in the future,” says Jason Maclennan, Communications Director for North Bay Pride. “Community events such as this bring our community together to celebrate diversity in a safer space, which allows us to celebrate changes for equity-seeking groups.”

Tickets can be purchased at Gateway City Brewery and through etransfer to [email protected].

The cost for a ticket is $20 in advance or $25 at the gate.

Gates will open at 7 pm on Saturday.
