Municipal candidate deadline less than a month away

If you’re thinking of running in this fall’s municipal election, the clock is ticking.

The deadline to file and get on the ballot is August 19.

In order to run for office locally, you need to be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, and live in the municipality or be married to someone who does.

If you or your spouse own or rent property in the municipality, but don’t live here, you’re also eligible as long as you meet the other criteria.

Jamie Lowery, Darryl Skinner and Ed Valenti are the councillor candidates.
