$50,000 of drugs off the North Bay streets

Three people are facing a slew of drug trafficking and weapon charges after a North Bay Police investigation.

Shortly before 9 pm on Aug. 1, city police along with OPP conducted a traffic stop in the 800-block of Bloem St. in North Bay. The three accused were located in the vehicle and were arrested by police.

Police say a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 395 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 500 suspected hydromorphone pills
  • Approximately 7 suspected oxycodone pills
  • Approximately 50 millilitres of suspected methadone
  • A loaded handgun
  • A prohibited extended magazine and accompanying ammunition
  • Approximately $4,000 in Canadian currency
  • A 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was seized as offence-related property

Police say the estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $50,000.

A 46-year-old man from North Bay, who is charged with:

  • Three counts of Trafficking in Schedule I substance
  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
  • One count of Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Tampering with serial number of a Firearm
  • One count of Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Carrying concealed weapon
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

A 21-year-old man from Waterloo, Ontario has been charged with:

  • Three counts of Trafficking in Schedule I substance
  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
  • One count of Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Tampering with serial number of a Firearm
  • One count of Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Carrying concealed weapon
  • One count of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

A 23-year-old man from Braeside, Ontario, who is charged with:

  • Three counts of Trafficking in Schedule I substance
  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • One count of Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
  • One count of Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Tampering with serial number of a Firearm
  • One count of Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • One count of Carrying concealed weapon
  • Two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • One count of Driving while under suspension

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
