The City of North Bay’s one-day mattress drop-off event is being heralded as a success.
More than double the number of mattresses and box springs were dropped off at the Public Works Yard on Sunday, compared to the last event in 2018.
“In total, 180 mattress/box springs were dropped off and diverted from the landfill,” states a social media post from the city.
In the last event four years ago, 82 mattresses and box springs were diverted.
Our mattress day event was a big success this year. In total, 180 mattress / box springs were dropped off and diverted from the landfill. The last time we did this event was in 2018 and we diverted 82 mattress / box springs, so we more than doubled this year. pic.twitter.com/FaTlrRDNmf
