Bay Block Party attracts thousands of people

Organizers of last weekend’s Bay Block Party are pleased with the success of the event.

Ryan Humble, President of the North Bay Real Estate Board and event chair, says the weather was perfect and it was great to see people getting back together again and having fun.

“The energy and the vibe were so positive and the feedback that we’ve received so far is that people are looking forward to the event next year,” he says.

Humble says each year they’ve held the event they’ve doubled their attendance.

“The last year we did it (2019) we had 4,000 people roughly,” he says. “This year, it’s still a little bit early to guess for sure, but probably 8,000 to 10,000 people throughout the course of the day.  It definitely exceeded our expectations.”

Humble says there are a few keys to the success of the event – which included something for everyone from kids activities, entertainment, food fest, beer and more.

“The other big part of it is keeping it free and that wouldn’t be possible without the community sponsorship we had this year, we can’t thank them enough,” he says.  “We have to thank the volunteers.”

Humble also thanks the organizing committee for their work noting that it takes a lot of people and community groups coming together to make the event a success.
