North Bay Pride hosting mayoral debate

The first mayoral debate has been scheduled in North Bay.

North Bay Pride is hosting the event next Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 pm.

“You are probably feeling the fatigue of politics right now and its frustrating because many of us do not feel heard,” says Jason Maclennan, Communications Director, North Bay Pride.  “Yet politics affects everything you do, from paying taxes to healthcare, to housing to jobs and so forth. When it is time to vote it is more important than many realize.”

North Bay Pride says all three candidates will be in attendance.

“Our debates are about communities because what communities need and want are usually very different from what politicians seem to think we need,” says Jocelyn Green, CEO of North Bay Pride.  “Being at a debate, asking your questions to find the right person to be elected, then vote for change, is why North Bay Pride has stepped up like we do. Because we want you heard and that is our goal, to give you space and support to say what you need to say.”

The debate can be viewed both in person at 150 First Ave. West (2nd floor) or online at https://www.facebook.com/NorthBayPrideLGBTTIQQ2SA

The North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce is working with YourTV North Bay on another debate set for later this month.

The Chamber is currently calling on its members to submit questions for that debate.
