North Bay Police Association IS fundraising

A local fundraising drive involving the North Bay Police Association is about to begin.

They’re partnering with Civic Community Safety Publishing for the initiative, which will involve phone calls soliciting donations from the public.

Those calls will begin on Sept. 12, 2022.

Money raised will support local substance abuse awareness campaigns, including the development of a substance abuse support handbook that

will be distributed to local schools, shelters, health care facilities and more. “The North Bay Police Service and North Bay Police Association recognize that there is a heightened awareness around scam calls in our community and across Ontario,” states a release.

Civic Community Safety Publishing will be making the calls and will request donations be made by cheque to the North Bay Police Association.

Officials say cheques will be retrieved by a driver wearing an identification tag.

If you receive a fundraising phone call you believe could be a scam or want to verify the validity of a fundraising call, contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.
