Capitol Centre looking for public input

A town hall-style meeting is being held at the Capitol Centre on Monday.

Kerri Morin, Marketing Manager, says they’re hosting the session to have an open discussion on programming, membership, pricing, concessions and marketing.

“We wanted to get not only our invested stakeholders in to talk about things but ideally some people who maybe haven’t had as much exposure to the Capitol Centre,” she says. “To get them in and see what would bring them in the doors now that we’ve kind of made our way out of the COVID era and we’re getting back into the swing of things.”

Morin says along with coming out of the pandemic, there are some new faces at the Centre, and they wanted to get a fresh perspective.

“(We’re) looking at this as an opportunity to see where we can really focus our efforts and make sure we’re strategizing,” she says. “And as a not-for-profit really making sure that we’re being community-minded.”

The 2022-23 season gets underway in mid-October but Morin says Programming and Events Director Dan Misturada is ramping up for the 2023-24 season too.

“We’re looking at getting some feedback before he gets underway with planning for that,” she says.

The town hall begins at 7 pm on Sept. 12 in the Betty Spears Theatre.

Residents are invited to just show up to the free session.
